You don't have a memory card in a TomTom sat nav. You just download the maps you want from the TomTom website. And depending on which model you have, you should already have maps of Europe installed. If you have one which doesn't have maps of Europe then it probably doesn't support them. I have a TomTom 920 which covers the whole of Europe and  America and I just go to the website about once a month and look for updates.
