If you're going for a more casual look, you could just pull your bangs back with a clip. Or if you don't have bangs, you can create some by taking a strip of hair, sweeping it across your face (not too much of a side part, if it's too far off to one side it looks bad) and clipping it.

If you want something more formal, you can do a half up, half down do. You just take the top part of your hair and clip it back with a barrette.
