Question:

What should I add to my chocolate?

I make my chocolate strawberries with Hershey's Chocolate straight from the bar of chocolate. I melt the chocolate through a double boiler. In order to dry my chocolate, I have to put them in the fridge. Now I don't really mind doing this, but it takes up a lot of room in the fridge. Is there anything I could add to make it dry without putting in the fridge? Also, is there anything I could add to the chocolate to make it taste better? Just wondering.

  1. I don't think you have to put it in the refridgerator anyway, it will harden if you leave it out.  You can put some vanilla extract in it.

  2. When you say "dry" do you mean to wait until the chocolate is solid again? If you don't add any liquids to it, I think it should be able to solidify if you leave it at room temperature to cool for a while.

You can add some vanilla extract, cinnamon, and/or nutmeg.

  3. are you using sweetened chocolate? That's a no-no if you're melting chocolate because it won't taste as good. You should make sure your chocolate is semi-sweet. It should harden at room temp but of course if the room or your climate is warm then the fridge is really the best bet.
