I will be contacting barns that supply riding lessons soon, and I need more questions to ask them.

I already got

-How many years instructor has worked at the barn

-How many years the instructor has been around horses

-How many lesson horses there are and how many hours the horses are ridden a day

-What farriers and vets are used at the barn

-How many people take lessons

-How a lesson is run usually

-If I can visit the barn

-Required outift per lesson.

Any more should I ask?

  1. make sure to go check it out and ask if you can watch some lessons before you take any

  2. - How much do lessons cost

    - do lesson students get to show/are there schooling shows

    - what disciplines/levels do they teach

    - are there horses available to lease or shareboard

why do you need to know what vet/farrier they use?

  3. how much it costs

    how long the lessons are

    how frequently the lessons are

if a horse can be trained there

if you can bring your horse to lessons

what saddles you will be using

  4. ask what the lessons cost, how long the lessons are, how many people at the barn, If you tack the horses up or does someone do it for you, If they need to be feed after the lesson do you do it, and are your lesson horses temperment good

  5. how many people ride at one time, because it can get really annoying when you're stuck with a bunch of other people all trying to navigate their horses too. check what you need to do with the horses before and after your lesson, and if you need to bring any of your own tack. don't just ask if you can visit the barn, you should definitely go check it out before you start riding somewhere. also see if you can meet an instructor you're interested in while you're there (even drop by and watch a lesson)

  6. -Price per lesson

    -Length of lesson

    -People in each lesson

-What is taught in lessons (what disciplines)

-What different levels of riding there are

-How fast you will probably advance in levels

-What you need to bring to lessons

-How often a week are lessons

    -What lesson times are available

That should get you started. I would definitely go visit the barn if they allow it. Hope thise helps! :) Good luck! <3
