I'm considering purchasing a 2001 Sea Doo GS Bombardie with trailer for $2,800, which seems to be a great deal. What are the common things to check for before purchasing? And, can it be started out of water? I'm new to the watercraft market obviously. Thanks very much!

  2. Remember that over 75% of all boating collision's involve "Personal Water Craft" !

  3. Look for repairs on the hull. They can't always be seen from the outside so look at the hull from the inside. Get a compression test, and look for metal on the plugs. It can be started out of the water, but don't run it long. Look in the pump and see if there are any gouges in the prop or excessive wear in the venturi. The pump nozzle should turn freely and the trim goes up and down when the engine is running. A test ride would be a good idea.
