Ok so in like 2 weeks I will be a senior

Where should i be as far as college search goes.

I am in the process of narrowing down my list of colleges to the ones i want to apply too. I have taken the SAT and it did not go very well. I am taking the ACT in September.

Also some of the schools I want to apply to require subject tests

i know you register for them through collegeboard but where on the website do you go to register? i havent beeen able to find it

Is it bad that i havent started on my applications at all?

  1. no it is not bad. most school deadlines are not until march or April.  it seems like you are on the right track.  just make sure you check with the schools you are applying to to get their specific deadlines for applications. also i would recommend that you have your application material in no later than November.  it is better to have your applications in earlier than later.

  2. It's not bad, but you might want to get started with some of the basic stuff now. Do any of the schools you're looking at accept the Common Application? If so, that can really save you some time. Go to www.commonapp.org and set up an account. You can fill out the easy stuff now if you want: name, birth date, etc. One thing you really want to do now is to figure out when you're going to need to submit your applications. Most regular deadlines are in March or April, but if you want to be considered for scholarships, the deadline might be earlier. Also, if you're thinking about applying Early Action or Early Decision the deadlines will be in October or November. So just figure out when you're going to need to turn stuff in, and plan from there.

When you go back to school you can talk to your counselor and he/she will help you with figuring out everything you need to do in your college application process. It will be stressful, but you can do it.

Go here and click on "register now" to register for either the SAT or the subject tests:

    Good luck!
