  1. Here's a check list;

    1) Your budget (agree on that with the rest above)

    2) What type of photography do you do? And how often would you use your camera?

If you're a casual shooter that likes taking snaps of friends and family you have a world of cameras to choose from. I've had a great experience with Canon's  ELPH line. But Nikon's Coolpix line is just as  good and a bit easier on the pocket.

A few from the Fuji f line are good and kick butt in low light.

If you're looking for a point and shoot with more manual features, look into a "super zoom" like the Nikon P80.

If you're more serious, search some SLRs.

So 3) look for a camera that fits your needs best.

    4) Forget  megapixels. On point and shoot cameras more megapixels often means more noise (grain in your photos). It does not mean better image quality.

    5) Most point and shoot cameras have built in image stabilization. That should take care of a shaky hand image :)

  2. first of all ur BUdget.

    then features of camera like

how much it can zoom, then secondly how many megapixel camera it is , more the mega pixel, more good quality pic u get.

look for company first of which u wanna purchase camera.

  3. well, get a tripod (camera stand) if your hands are shaky

and i have the hp photosmart r847, it has a steady photo application.. so that might be something to look for

anyways, look for style, accessibility (are the buttons easy.. etc.),look for a camera with long battery life.. etc.

anyways, the hp photosmart is a really nice camera but i wouldn't suggest it because it takes fuzzy pictures without flash and has a nasty zoom in sound. BUT, i still love it, cause it takes great video quality and has neat editing effects (cartoon, water color.. list goes on)

    GOOD LUCK!!

  4. Buy Nikon.  Especially one of their DSLRs with a VR (Vibration Reduction) lenses.

Or, if you don't want a DSLR get a Nikon Coolpix.

-Edit @ thunderbird22: megapixels have nothing to do with how shaky a camera is.  They come secondly to a camera that has a good system for steadying images.-

  5. budget then features.

  6. mine is a really neat sony..that has a shaky hand setting!!

    its a sony t 70

    i love it

  7. While purchasing a camera, you should do the following:

1- Megapixels- Must be above 5

2- Zoom- 3x optical and above. Dont even look at the Digital zoom.

        It tears the picture.

3- If you have shaky hands, Look for cameras that have IS written beside their names. It stands for Image Stabiliser.

4- I recommend the Canon powershot A470, but it is not IS. It has 7.1 Megapixel. 3.4x optical zoom and fine pic quality. It is Rs.7499(150$)

5- If you want IS, Go for the Canon IXUS models. They cost over 200$.
