What should I be paying for maid service?

My sis-in-law makes $100 per day. I think those maid services charge about $10-$15 hr. A lot depends on what you want them to do. If its just light cleaning or you want them to strip the bed and wash clothes, etc.

My home is about the same size as yours, my gal washes 1 beds linen (master bedroom) dusts, vacuums, mops wipes everything down in the kitchen, cleans 2 full bathroom and I pay $160.00, she has overhead though, business license, insurance, supplies all the cleaning supplies and equiptment and has 1 helper plus they both drive so there is gas to consider. Well worth every dollar, its hard work!!

I own a cleaning svc and although your square ffotage is a help... it really depends on

1. How soiled the house is

2. Have pets? (normally and upcharge for that)

3. The detailing required art, figurines, mirrors, framed artwork and glass

4. If they are expected to do windows, wash or oil mini-blinds?

5. Have hardwood, tile or carpet,

6. if you have stairs

7. If you want fingerprinting of walls, doors and switchplates.

8. Kitchen (How detailed you'd like the appliances, oven(s), microwave, toaster, or any other appliances you may have that you may want detailed i.e. fridge.  If you want the cabinets washed and (oiled if the are wood)

9. bathroom - glass shower stalls with heavy soap scum? jacuzzi tub? all factors into time and level of detailing.

It just really depends.  If you are looking for thorough detailing of your home, it would probably take 1 person on avg 6-8 hours or 2 persons 3-4 hours. If you have all of the materials you want them to use on specific items, it will save you some cash; but a full service clean with product specific items brought to the premise, with your square footage you would probably looking at around $200 for the initial cleaning. If you are going to use the service regularly (once every two weeks) you should expect to pay around $150 per day
