Question:

What should I bring for lunch?

Tomorrow, we have a 'student wellness day', where we do all of these sessions about drugs, and some fun things like gymnastics. Well, on the initial memo they passed out it said they would provide a nutritious recess and lunch, but it turns out that the recess is fruit (which is ok) and milk (not.) And the lunch is hotdogs, ice cream, and water. (mm nitrates) Anyhow, now I have to bring my own lunch; and I dont want to look too 'different' as I'll be eating with a lot of people around me. What should I bring? (It has to stay in a (not-so-cool) cooling lunch bag for like 3.5hours, in my locker.

thanks in advance x

  1. I absolutely LOVE smart dogs!  If you take them nobody will even notice.  Just make them the night before and take them with you...Then you can use the condiments that are provided.

Eat the fruit for a snack and just buy a juice instead.

  2. Take a peanut butter and banana sandwich and some nibbly veggies like: carrots, celery, jicama, edamame, pea pods, etc.

    They won't suspect a thing.

    *wink*

  3. I'm a vegan too. I brought vegan style Pad Thai today. Yummy!

  4. haha wait a minute... when did hot dogs become nutritious?? I'm not saying I don't eat them occasionally, but nutritious they are not, I consider them junk food. can you stick a frozen ice pack in your lunch box? I made this salad yesterday and it was the best! a little too sweet, so maybe a little less sugar or less dressing overall, but don't put the dressing on until you're ready to eat it. but yeah, this recipe, aside from the sugar (and I'm not sure what vegans use for sugar when concerned about the refining process), is very healthy!

    haha sorry! here it is:
