  1. i would bring any clothing (gently used) that you dont wear anymore so you can donate. it'd be greatly appreciated.

perhaps a camera. but for the most part anything that you could maybe give away to those less fortunate.

because you'll probably need the room in your suitcase...for all the things you'll buy. lol.

anyways i hope you have fun! =]

  2. Lot's of good advice here. My recommendations would be to pack minimum clothing, it's incredibly cheap to buy clothes at Ben Thanh or any of the other markets in Saigon. Bring two empty suitcases (or buy them there) and one carry-on with a few changes of clothes (you'll be bringing lot's of stuff back!). Bring a pair of sneakers if you plan on doing anything physical (hiking, swimming, etc) and buy a pair of sandals when you arrive, Doc Martens cost about $15 usd.

Take a shower at Inchon or Singapore ($8 usd at the transit hotel) while waiting for your connecting flight. It is well worth the money.

Speaking of money, bring only new, crisp bills, Vietnamese will not change damaged or worn bills. Bring an ATM card for emergencies.

If you want to make some money, bring a good lap-top. They cost a fortune in Vietnam.

Feel free to email me, I will be in Ben Tre in July.

    Bon Voyage !

  3. a man purse you can sew in the inside of your pants, imodium, insect repellent, sunscreen, and money, and patience... at the airport.
