What should I bring on a cruise to Bermuda in the month of July?

OK, there's obvious stuff like bathing suit, tickets, passport/ID, outfits for the beach/daywear and outfits for the evening, but here's some stuff I tend to forget:

-Sunscreen. Selection and prices will be better at home

-Moneybelt or secure pouch for when you get off the ship.  Less likely to get stolen than a purse.  There are waterproof ones for swimming

-Snorkel and goggles, if you like.  You can usually rent them too, but cheaper to BYO

And some stuff NOT to bring:

-Candles, incense, an iron.  Cruise ships consider them fire hazards

-Any, um, illicit substances

Also consider....

A power strip...most cabins only have 1 outlet.

An extra swim suit...they never dry hanging up in the bathroom and who likes to put on a wet swim suit?

XXXL Ziploc bag for wet, sandy clothes

A large canvas bag to take items on shore excursions

Mark the handles of your luggage with brightly colored yarn, ribbon or plastic marking ribbon so you can easily find it upon debarkation

Plenty of $1, 5 and 10 in US dollars for shopping in market and local taxis

Plan as through you are going to the beach.  Also, if this is a 7 or more day cruise, plan for 2 formal nights (usually Tues and Thurs).  Some ca$h for incidentals or souvenirs, plenty of film in your camera or toss away cameras.  Don't forget the SPF30 or higher.  Oh yes, stop in at a local drug store and buy some Bonine Tablets for motion sickness--especially if you are going across ANY part of the Gulf of Mexico (or get your doctor to prescribe Transderm patch for behind the ear).
