  1. It depends, as the previous answer said, on what you eat and where.

There are plenty of places on, for example, the Rue Mouffetard where a midday meal will cost you only 8-12 euros for entree, plat, and dessert.

However, I just got back from my annual trip to Paris and spent quite a bit more without being extravagant. Dinner for two at my favorite little restaurant with wine and coffee afterwards ran more like 70 euros. And, of course, you can spend vastly more than that without trying very hard.

I guess you have to decide what your priorities are. Good food is one of the main reasons to travel to Paris and so, while I don't go to the hyperexpensive, world famous restaurants I do go to nice places with something more than egg mayonaisse, steak frites and chocolate mousse on the menu.

My opinion is that you can eat very well for about 50 euros per person per day.

  2. Well, that depends on where you'd want to eat. Getting breakfast at a small patisserie, or street vendor, would be around 2-3 euros. Lunch could cost you anywhere between 3-5 euros at a street stand. In a cafe, it could be a little higher, maybe 6-10 euros. Dinner runs about 6-12 euros, at a restaurant or cafe. So,

    cheap: about 10-15 euros.

    moderate: 13-20 euros.

    expensive-ish:15-22 euros.

If you're going to Paris, have fun! It's amazing.
