What should I build for woodshop?

I am required to build something large that will take the entire school year. I don't just want to build the basic chair or table. I want something unique!!!! If you have ideas where I could get plans for that too, that be GREAT!

Personally I would want to make a cabinet, like a china cabinet or a curio. with the glass front and nice shelves. It will be something that will last a long time and you will cherish when you are older

how about making a standard lamp with a lathe this should take you forever to master the use of the lathe and drill the hole for the cable and make a base big enough to stop it falling over. on the other hand try a table lamp to start with much easier, and probably take you a long time anyway.

How about a boat, I built one when I was in school. It was a lot of fun and I actually used it for years.
