What should I buy a Sony cybershot or Cannon powershot?

Question

I just need a good point and click camera, Im thinking SD750, 850 in the Cannon, and Sony T40 or something else.

I have good skills so would like a mid range camera which takes great pictures in the dark.

I've read so many reviews that the Canon Powershot SD750 was a pretty decent camera. So i sold my older model Sony (which was awesome) and decided to try a Canon. Im not impressed I took my camera to a wrestling event and the pictures were horrible. I thought maybe i had to fix the settings or something. Took it to my daughters assembly at her school (in the auditorium)  and guess what pictures were dark, dull in color, and somewhat blurry. Taking it back today!!
