I'm new to photography and I've been saving up to get a camera. I'm looking for something that is good for big landscape photos and also some really detailed macro shots. I was thinking the Olympus E-510 would be a good one.

  1. Pretty much any SLR is good for any type of shot. It's all in the lens. If you want to shoot Macro shots, then you'll need a Macro lens. If you're going to be shooting landscapes, I suggest you buy yourself a good wide angle lens.

I have had an Olympus E-500 for several years, and I still love it. I have never had any trouble with it, it still works like new.

I think you'll be pleased with Olympus' image quality and performance.

  2. look at what lenses are available for each brand and see what you can afford

a $8000 camera with the kit lens is worthless to you if you want to do macro and landscape, look at the whole system before you decide
