What should I call this? The Dark Knight Returns?

He came, he saw and he kicked a*s

(then went and had his dinner).

When he came back his words, alas,

had failed to save each sinner.

Fools gather where they will, alack,

he had his pick of plenty.

He hit head on, them from the back -

one hero 'verses' twenty.

Poor Judy, Andy, Hydropro,

and Neonman another -

did fear the Mighty E-AN-O,

with Elyslund, their 'mother'.

The blind are blind and cannot see,

they wallow in their faeces.

And thus proclaim themselves to be

a far, far lower species.

  1. I would call it "The (Sour) Grapes of Wrath"

  2. ian - the Music section would like you to call in there sometime to demonstrate your trumpeting technique. They have heard of your self-taught reputation. I hear it is actually an honour to be selected to do that. Just a thought. cheers Jellz

PS I only blow raspberries and they have all those positions filled so...meh!

ian - I find blocking now is easier than reporting each time. I would get bored with that. This way I choose when I what to engage with the blockee. Altogether more empowering and pleasant for me - just call me selfish. Do have a lovely day. Thanks for your interest. I gave you the star for spelling, I found that interesting. Although I agree the "species" rhyme is tacky and lowers the tone of the verse even more than the preceding lines.

  3. Fourth stanza, second line, final word.

    Says it all.

    (Edit)

That's OK, you're obviously in the minority here.

    Very much so.

Oh, keep these comments coming, please.

I haven't laughed so much in ages.

Oh by the way Iano (or should that be guano?) "faeces" doesn't rhyme with "species". Discipline, please.

    Had any poems published recently?

    Guess what - I have.

    OK last one from me:

Your command of metre and language prompts me to guess that there are better poems than this one inside you.

Try writing for a wider target audience. That is after all what poetry is (or should be) all about.

  4. There's just 'something' about your writing and edits...a 'persona' among many, but why so bitter?

Mommy says 'go to your room, now. They'll know your real identity soon.'
