I'm bulimic. I think I am finally realizing that I cannot control this anymore. I think I need help but I don't want my parents to find out. I am 15. Asking anyone else for help would be embarising! What should I do? Can I stop this on my own?

  1. Obviously, you can't stop this on your own. Getting real help may be the hardest thing to do, but It Will set you on the right track to being confident and healthy. My mother tells me of when she used to be bulimic, and what an awful time that was for her. Just get some help, it will be the best decision you will make.

(and the above answer is just a copy and paste answer, they have posted it on several questions before. I doubt they even read your question)

  2. cut your fingers off........or just start eating your thrown up lunch and your brain will start to realize its not healthy.

  3. It's going to be 100 times harder to do it on your own than asking for help.  I have no comparrison to what you are going through so I cannot give your any advice on how to fight it but, I know there are tons of people out there who can help.

I found a website for you that has a bunch of help lines listed.  They are for the most part annonymous and 1-800 numbers so your parents wouldn't have to find out.

However, I am sure that your parents love you no matter what and would be willing to help you through this.  If nothing else they can at least give your their support.

  4. If you are serious about losing weight, have a look at the list of sites.

    - they give you weight-loss-systems.

    - your can enter and keep track of your weight and measurements.

  5. Can you stop this on your own? Of course. Anyone can stop a problem they have with themselves that they started on their own; however, it is a question of will-power and mental stability.

You know you have a problem, and thus you now just have to figure out a way to fix it.

To will the problem away, you simply don't make yourself throw up when you feel like you have to. Don't stick your finger in your mouth. It sounds easy, of course; however, I understand that you have an EXTREME urge to do so. You have to have the will power to ignore that urge. Eventually, you will get over it. Many people handle quitting smoking in this fashion.

Otherwise, you should seek help. It is more likely this way will be successful for you, especially since you are so young. I suggest doing this. I know you do not want your parents to find out. I know you are embarrassed about it and want to keep it to yourself. I have done countless things that I did not want my parents to find out about, but I ignored that feeling and just told them anyway. It was a HUGE relief when I told them. I suggest you get it off your chest and tell them, even though you will be scared. You will feel much better.

If your parents are not supportive of you, or they beat you or speak down to you, then there are other problems that you need to handle besides being bulimic.

    Good luck!
