  1. I am currently finishing AAS in Nursing.  I would recommend that you take the 2 year route and pass the NCLEX-RN and then decide if you want to continue with your BS.  The "nursing" part is going to be the same.  It's a matter of whether you're more interested in nursing or in administration.  Most BSN level RNs are in administration or management.  The very good ones continue to at least "care for" one patient each day, if they have time to schedule themselves on the roster.  I started my BS studies and after my first year, I transferred to a 2 year program, which will only take me 3 semesters actually.  I do not want to be in mgmt.  I want to be in direct patient care.  I've worked in admin. & mgmt. most of my life and I always hated not being able to be "hands on" with those I served in the medical field.  It's really up to what you want in the end.  The pay is better for BSN of course but where I live, it's 50.00/hr for starting RN, AAS and it's 60.00 for RN, BSN ... I don't personally feel the 10.00 is worth being put into mgmt. and sacrificing direct care opportunities.

  2. I would choose number two.

  3. i am an lvn currently working on my rn. if you want to be a nurse right away.. you should just go to a vocational school first. that way you can work as a nurse and get experience while your going back to school.

  4. I would take the 2 year nursing program at your community college just because community college is cheaper than a university and then transfer over. You'll save yourself and your parents a lot of money.

  5. I would take the 2 year then the 4 year for bachelors because you would probably get better pay checks and have more experience on the job you would also be accepted in higher hospitals.

  6. i want to be a docter

  7. Depends on your financial status and goals.  If you go to the 2 year you can get a job and then let the hospital pay for the bachelors later.  If you get the full degree right from the start you won't have to work and go to school later.  The BSN is really only useful if you want to go into management or other higher level position later in your career.

  8. it depends on you...

the associates of nursing if it is a good program takes 1.5 years and then the actual program takes 1.5 years, plus then a bridge program takes about 1-2 years.

the bachelors is supposed to take 4 years but remember you also have to take the pre-reqs and apply to the nursing school which can take a while depending on the schools waiting list.

go to http://www.allnurses.com you can find good answers there.  it all depends on what you would like to do.  from reading the posts both ADN and BSN nurses get paid about the same.

some schools in west virginia, nebraska, those places on might not want to live might have shorter waiting lists.
