I'm a freshman and I'm 'trying out' for the high school soccer team, I've noticed that I'm not as good as every one else.

Any tips on how to catch up?

  1. Everyone develops differently. As you get older you start to reach your peak, some players peak early and some peark late on. Don't worry about it, if you have only just started playing football now or not i'm sure that if you put in the hard work and show your coach your committed then you will be in the team and then you can get some proper coaching and will catch up in no time.

  2. Once u got ur fitness going, everything else just starts falling into place

  3. Practice?..... if that fails you can do the 'coach i really like your dress sense today'

  4. Practice harder than anyone else

  5. make sure you are touching the soccer ball every day. A friend of mine went to all the same camps and programs we did we all started at the same level, but because he went and practiced all the time on his own away from our practices he is absolutely amazing now. Do whatever u can to make sure you are touching the ball. Whether it be by yourself or with a friend. You need to make sure you arent just playing during practice. Go out on your own or with a friend, and keep working on your skills. My friend did and now he is playing D1 soccer, and its not like our school is a powerhouse we are in like 3rd to last place. PRACTICE LIKE U PLAY THOUGH OR YOU WONT SUCCEED PUSH YOURSELF TO YOUR LIMITS!!!

  6. I had the same exact problem, but you have to prove yourself to your coach and your teammates so they give you respect, work hard it'll take time but keep working hard.

  7. One very important aspect you have to work on is not your skills, but it's your speed and stamina. so you better start doing that again. you can improve your speed by just running a lot for long periods of time, that will get you more endurable at running too do a lot of biking, which gets your feet stronger, meaning you can run faster. Swimming  dramatically improves stamina, so do that. Once you get faster and increase your stamina, you can work on your skills. first: ball control. You can set up cones on a field and try to run around them with a ball as fast as you can. You'll notice the more you'll do it, the faster you'll be able to do it and that means you can control the ball better already. Then work on your passes and shoots accuracy and power. just set up a target that's far away from you and try to hit it. with a lot of training, you'll get better. Now, an advice I give to all girls who play soccer: DON"T BE AFRAID OF THE BALL. lots of girls are, if you aren't it'll give you an advantage over other girls, try to scare them by faking shots, always works. also, RUN LIKE YOU MEAN IT. don't run like you are modeling or something. If you do that, I bet you'll catch up with the others. Good Luck!!!

  8. just practice practice and practice. try gaining ball control by juggling and dribbling around cones. gain speed and stamina. never give up you'll get there.
