What should I do about a friend?

I've had a best friend for about 14 years now. Things have been pretty good, with every once awhile having an argument or two. aanyway, to make a super effing long story short...

there's a girl, we'll call bratney, who for the last few years has caused nothing but complete drama to my friends and family. Everyone has dropped that person from our lives, except my sister, chrissy. She remains battling with her drama by being on-again off again friends. Well a few months ago bratney had called me a series of names and threatened me over text messages out of nowhere (i hadnt seen or talked to her in over a year).

My best friend knew this..and yet last night hung out with her and my sister...and made no remarks to this person about apologizing to me, or anything. I didnt expect my best friend to get violent, or even yell at her, but just a simple "hey you should apologize, you said some real rude things to my best friend' would have done just fine. what do i say to my best friend?

thank you for any input! :)

  1. maybe she doesnt want to invoke any more problems from this bratney character. just because she doesnt bring it up may not necassarily mean that shes swapped sides here, it probably just means she doesnt want to be involved in any part of the drama?

why dont you ask her? you  have been friends for so long that it only seems fair that you could approach her over something of this nature :)

  2. You can start by asking why she didn't say anything to defend your honor last night. Maybe she was just trying to save you all from the drama that would surely follow. You two hate this bratney girl because she brings along drama and maybe your friend didn't want to start something. Just talk to her and see what she says.

  3. You never know why people do the things they do.  Ask her.   All friends that need to communicate how they feel, instead of keeping it  locked up inside.  It's important that you and you're friend can trust each other, and feel free to express yourselves.  If she's really a true friend she'll talk to you openly.  Also remember, even if she is your best friend she can have her own friends.  Even if you don't like bratney she can still be friends with her.  It might seem like she's betraying you if she is and you tell her that and communicate with her.
