What should I do about a racist teacher?

At my school, my English class was split up yesterday and sent off to different classes for the lesson because our English teacher wasn't available, as she was attending a debate which me and a few other students were speaking in. After meeting up with a couple of friends later who'd been sent to the ESL class (English as a secondary language) I learned that apparently, the teacher had gone absolutely psycho because a Chinese student was speaking in Chinese to a friend. He went off about how the student should only speak English because he was in in an English-speaking country and for some reason ended up on some rant about how Asians can't sing or something along those lines (like WTF?). So anyway, I'm taking this to the principal and if nothing is done, just wondering who outside of school I could go to. Please bear in mind, I live in Sydney Australia, so no American departments, lol. Thanks.

  1. Racism is a personal choice. I'd just let it go.

  2. that is NOT racism. you are being petty, and you are hatemongering.

did the teacher ever say he was better than the chinese person because of his race? No. he did not, therefore he is not racist. What he said was true; Australia is an english speaking country.

now, he very well could have been telling him to speak english because it is an english class! When i go into french class at my school it's the same thing, you are expected to speak in french.(and that is not racist)

ignore it.   as my mother always says "pick your battles"

  3. The principal and your parents are both good people to tell. Racism is WRONG, and they can tell you if it was racist and do something about it.

  4. Nothing happened to you so you cant do nothing

  5. Haha...tell him not to worry...William Hung didn't make it as a singer...
