In February I started working at a company called Thomson Plastics in sandersville,ga. Orginally I wanted a clerical/administrative position, but I was told that one wasn't available, and i would be the first one to know when one did. I started in the company as a production worker. The office messed up my check two weeks in a row. Once, I had to go a whole weekend without my check. When i called inquiring about my check, the receptionist had a nasty attitude(she was the one who messed it up in the first place) I resigned in March. My boyfriend had a job interview today at the same company. He is an extremely good-looking guy. The girls in the office practically threw themselves on him. He went there for a fork-lift position, and they told him about a clerical opening. They also told him that the clerical job pays more than the fork-lift, and he need to take the clerical job. A job opening that was open when I was there, but never knew anything about it. My boyfriend told me this, and just to prove my point, i called the company and ask did they have any clerical openings, and she told me no. The people at this job isn't right. My boyfriend told me that the human resources manager told the 2 girls, that if he hired my boyfriend for the clerical position, he would still have to come first. First in what? I tell you what. Flirting, horseplaying, and all kind of unprofessional mess. I know that i need to leave it alone, but every single day, i get up job hunting and have been unsuccessful. I'm a smart young woman. I was a honor graduated, and graduated in the top percentage of my class. I have a great resume. What should I do?

  1. How is this about Royalty?

  2. Concentrate on moving forward and not what happened at your prior job. If your boyfriend gets hired for the higher paying job then that is good for you both I'd assume. Really, what goes on there should not be your concern anymore.

If you're educated and employable then perhaps you need to look outside of Sandersville, GA. Move to or concentrate your search in areas that have opportunities. Also allow others to help you job hunt. Have you went to any employment agencies? They should be helpful in finding the type of job you want, but don't let the recruiters push you around. The agencies get paid for placing people so don't allow them to force a job on you that you do not want.

  3. obviously you weren't good enough to do the job, move on
