  1. Everything that you haven't worn in the last 6 months, goes. Depending on where you live, check with the local red cross or fire dept to see if there's families in need at this time. It's personal and they'll appreciate immensely. As far as your closet goes that's really a no brainer- by article ,color, look at a mag. make it yours be creative and have fun!

  2. Get rid of anything that you haven't worn in the past two or

three years, and anything that doesn't fit or faded.

  3. Get yourself 2 large boxes and 2 storage bins.Start on one side of your closet and sort your clothing into 4 piles....

1.keep 2.store 3.donate 4.toss When you get to the other end you should have an empty closet.First bring toss box to trash bin.Second, bring donate box to car and bring to local donation site.Third fold and put all clothing in store pile into your bins and put under bed or in basement or in corner of closet. Now your ready to get organized!!!!! Sort your clothing

    1.dresses

    2.skirts

    3.pants

    4.shorts

    5.long sleeve

    6.short sleeve

    7.tanks etc.

make sure as you sort them that you kept only what you are going to wear and that you have enough coat hangers to hang them all up.Good Luck!

  4. The usual advice is to get 3 boxes.  Label one keep, another donate, and the other throw out.  Take everything out of your closet, because believe it or not it helps to evaluate whether you really want the thing once you see it in full light.  Consider whether you have used the item recently or whether it has sat unused.  If you haven't used it, find a new home for it (unless it has important sentimental value).  If something really doesn't make you feel attractive or doesn't fit well, let it go.  Same with things that have tears, stains, or faded colors.

I like to go to the store and hang out in the closet organizing section and get ideas (I used to get paid to organize homes).  Buying a few cheap containers can really help to keep things streamlined.  I particularly like the hanging shoe storage things (about $10) and the plastic see through boxes.  The boxes work great for storing seasonal clothes and keeping the dust off.  The see through aspect is really great when you are looking for something, since you won't have to pull everything out.

Once you have filled the boxes, immediately throw stuff out or donate it, because if you procrastinate they may just end up back in your closet.
