Question:

What should I do about my neighbours house?!?

My neighbours are currently on holiday in Finland on a ski-ing trip and they asked me and my family to watch over their house while they're away..

I was just out gardening and potting my wife's plants, shoving my trowel in my wife's border and then I decided while I'm at it to cut down a tree that obstructs our front window. I got the chainsaw out and cut through our big tree, and it collided with my neighbours roof!

We live out in the sticks so luckily we don't have many neighbours, and the neighbours we do have aren't that nearby.

What should I do?!?!

Pay them when they're back or move to another country?!

  1. stand the tree back up, maybe using nails or a very strong adhesive, if they notice then blaim your wife

  2. As much as it may suck.. just be truthful. Call your Homeowners Insurance ASAP and tell them what happened. Get as much done as you can while they're gone so they don't think your being irresponsible.

  3. ha ha ha ha...rofl...Sorry, couldn't help myself...ha ha ha ha...rofl...

Now what have you learned from this exsperience? Answer: Don't attempt to do anything your not qualified to do.

Would you attempt to do any electrical work on your house with no knowledge of what your doing? probably not. Samething applies to cutting down a tree or just cutting of a limb, just because you got the chainsaw doesn't mean you are qualified to perform the task at hand.

I only say this in this seemingly condinsending manner in the hopes that it will prevent you from attemptng something in the future that you aren't qualified to do that may injure or kill yourself or someone else.

My intent is not to sound like a smarta*s, but to make you and anyone else think who is reading this prior to attempting a project they have know exsperience in.

I apologize for my misspelling in advance of any comments.

  4. apologise and compensate them when they return.

  5. Call your insurance company - call the owner and tell them to notify their insurance and ask if they have a preferred roofing company they want you to call - then CALL the roofer.   If it rains and there is that damage to their roof - who knows what else you'll cause damage to.  c**p happens - but if you let more damage occur and didn't tell them what is going on - then it no longer is an accident..

  6. Fix the problem.  Your insurance should pay for it.  Be a good neighbor!

  7. You could pay them back, or you could fix it while they're gone. Just tell them you didn't like the way it looked and you were in charge of the house so you made it look better =P

  8. lol man ur a goner move to another country and change ur name

  9. Just claim that the wind took it down.

But make sure that your cut wasn't to clean or their be suspicious.

And hope like h**l no-one heard or saw u.

  10. You would be best off geting it sorted asap.

  11. Maybe your home owners insurance will cover it ...

  12. How drunk are you?

When you sober up, get a ladder and some tarps and 'rain proof`

    the damage you've done.

    Call your insurance company.

Your neighbors will make a claim.

Compensation might keep them from killing you..

  13. Your homeowners insurance should cover this.  Call them at once.

  14. haha get that tree off there roof..mayb theres no visible damage?? and just pretend it never happened.. and maybe in a couple months they have a crazy story about how there roof has been leaking and they don't know y haha

  15. your actions, your fault, your repair bill, so get it fixed asap before the weather changes and causes more expense for yourself, don`t forget the tv adverts, where there is blame there is a claim

  16. If you're capable of removing the limb that struck their roof, then I'd start there.  Once you have that down, check for damage to the actual roof that may allow leakage, and if you find any of that, get a qualified roofer out there in a hurry to get it fixed.   You may wind up being responsible for the cost of the whole thing, but you may also find that your insurance may cover some or all of it, after all it was an accident, wasn't it???

  17. hi girl

i think you should face them aand beat them if they want to mess with you.

sexond of all, its shame of them to tell people to watch over their house, they should look for a keeper. you dont work for them so you dont need to protect their property

    god bless you
