Question:

What should I do about my pets?

I have three cats and two dogs. I'm going away for a little over a week and have an ex who's familiar with the animals coming over to house-sit. I'm mostly worried about the two dogs b/c they get worked up over us just being gone during the day and I've heard of dogs getting excited enough to cause heart problems. I have a Black Lab mix who's about 5 and a German Shepherd mix who's about 3. Is there OTC tranquilizer type medication I need to have my ex give them or will they be OK when we get home?

  1. If your really THAT worried, put your pets in a kennel. They will be fed, watered, and exercised every day, you can have them groom and bathe them, and if anything were to go wrong medically they would know what to do and where to take them. Leaving your pets with professionals seems a much better option than having an ex check in on them when hes not busy with his own life. Plus, even a rather lavish kennel is going to be inexpensive.

  2. i would take them to a pet kennel if theyre that bad. are they fixed? that may help. that will cause them to be healtier and less worked up.
