I recently got a tattoo on Friday done with black ink on my wrist. Now I have another one on my foot and I have taken care like I did that one. Except now that its healing and scabbing it looks like its fading, what should i do? Could it be that wat I'm putting on it is causing it to fade or should I go back to the tattoo artist and let him know?

  1. when you are in the healing process your tattoo will look faded, especially on the foot. its normal.

  2. I have the exact same problem in the same place and I agree with those who say wait until it's healed before deciding what to do. That's what I'm going to do.

  3. I would wait until the 2 week healing process is up, and if you still feel that it doesn't look right your tattoo artist should do a free touch-up.

  4. Dont worry, this is probably just what is known as the milk scab, it looks faded and cloudy and is a common part of tattoo healing. wait till two weeks after it was done at least before you can tell what a tattoo is realy going to look like, then if still worried go to see your artist. but remember it takes upto 3 mnths for the healing to be done all the way into the underneath of your tattoo on the inside,  so  dont panic after just a few days. keep it moisturised with unsented lotion, something like a nappy rash cream is good, wash it several times a day is the most important thing. dont use vasaline, this will fade it- dont swim or sunbathe either as they will fade it too.

  5. you need to go back to your tattoo artist and let him know, and he should charge you.

  6. You do need to wait the full 2 weeks before you base your opinion. The healing stage is extremely important to your tattoo turning out looking great. It could be healling different because of the different locations on your body, how much you have covered them up, if they were done by the same artist, and what type of aftercare you are doing. It also depends on what you are using to keep your tattoo moist. I used H2Ocean and all three of my tattoos are fantastic. You should be using a lotion without scent, pretty basic. If after the healing process you still feel that the tattoo is faded you might be able to go back to the shop and have them touch it up for no charge. This depends on how big it is and their policy. Also, never go into hot tubs or swimming pools until it is healed because they hold so much bacteria and submerging them in water can ruin them. Last piece of advice, there is such a thing as oversaturating a tattoo meaning that you are putting too much lotion on. You should be using just enough to make the tattoo moist and you shouldn't have to rub it in a lot. You should do this between 4 and 6 times per day.

  7. I hope you put cortisone cream on it while it was healing. I think they all fade a little but if you are concerned  go back to the artist.

  8. you should wait until it's fully healed, the fading just might be part of the healing process.

if you wait a few weeks and it's still faded your artist should be able to touch it up for free

  9. I would definitely go back to the artist and let him/her take a look at it. Keep in mind that you got your tattoo in a different spot on your body than the other one. Different textures of skin and sweat glands can cause the skin to heal differently. But definitely let your artist take a look at it.
