I am getting married this October, and I have chosen my wedding dress. The issue I am having is whether or not I should have the seamstress take the pick-ups out of my dress. I have gotten many differing opinions on the matter, so if you guys could help, I would appreciate it. You can view my dress here,(My dress is white, not green like in the picture):

  1. u should have them take it out

  2. Speaking as a seamstress myself, I would say that the dress has obviously been designed with the pick ups and this accentuates the silhouette of the dress. If you take them out you will lose the structure of the gown, it will also require length adjustment, a lot of pressing and generally change the whole feature of the dress, making the skirt look very plain. Of course all these adjustments will be costly both financially and time wise.

In the end it is your own personal choice but I hope my answer has been of some help.

  3. i say take them out they are to distracting,

  4. I agree with Storm, they only look good in pictures.  I would take them out so that the focus would be on the detail in the top of the dress.

  5. You should have her take them out just in case. Better safe then sorry.

  6. you should leave them in, it looks very nice with them.

good luck getting married! hope its wonderful!

  7. I would have the pickups taken out.  They look good in pictures, but they usually look odd in person.

  8. I think it would lose some of its interest. But it would be ok, i guess it depends on where u want the focus. Personally though, the pick ups give it character. I like it.
