What should I do about the leather jacket I got as a gift?

my aunt got me an expensive leather jacket for my birthday. I really really appreciate it, I just can't wear it because of my veganism. it's a nice jacket, I just don't know what to do with it. I don't want to get rid of it..help!

When she gave it to you I would have just told her right away that you are a vegetarian so you can't wear it even though it is so beautiful.  If she knew you were a vegan she shouldn't have gotten you a leather jacket.  If she just gave it to you then see if she has the receipt.  Otherwise I would sell it.

Donate it.  Then be sure that all your friends and family know that you are against all animal exploitation so that they never get you anything made from a slaughtered innocent again.

If you don't want to get rid of it, but don't want to wear it, you are pretty much in a bind. If you hang it in your closet, it will give the closet a nice scent for a little while.

Well,i would donate it or burn it,after all an animal died to make that jacket.

Makes me shudder.

The jacket could be the nicest in the world cost a million pounds,but i personally wouldn't have it in my house.As a true veggie it goes against my morals.

You should probably just tell your aunt about your veganism, and that if she still has the receipt, that you do like the jacket but you can't wear it because of said reason. Also if you don't like the way it looks, then tell her in your own way. You'll probably get a chance to have it result in the best manner possible.

Isn't your family aware of your convictions and way of life?

If not, tell them so this doesn't happend again.

Give the jacket away, maybe a friend will like it, or something.
