Question:

What should I do for a career demonstration as a marketing manager?

I have to do a career speech for school, and the career I chose was marketing manager. Along with the speech, we have to do a demonstration of our occupation (which I think is really dumb when we're all in 8th grade and most of us don't know how to do our job).

So I have no idea what to do as a marketing manager. No research has an in-depth description of what they do. They just say they talk a lot with public relations, advertising managers, market research analysts.....so if you could give me some ideas, preferabley based on experience.

Thanks, in advance

Also, if you could tell me how you personally feel about your job, and state how long you have been employed.

Also what degree you have (bachelor, master, etc), and how many years of college you've been through.

And if you don't mind....your salary/pay, and benefits and what company you work at

Thanks a lot for the informatoin

  1. I think that you need to choose an industry first as there are so many different marketing platforms that are utilised when bringing a product to market, or marketing an existing product or service.  Its a complex job, generally the harder the product/service to sell the harder and more expensive to market.

Its a great job to have when you get it right, but even then you will always have a fight on your hands.  Cut cost reduce overheads, more leads better clients, more clients the list goes on and on.

Pick an industry that sounds fun and interesting to you, one that you like the thought of working in and be prepared for long hours.

Hope that may help a little.
