Okay I'm a junior in high school and I have a problem. I've ALWAYS wanted to be a video game designer. I've read that you need some programming(C, C++, Java) and that doesn't seem like it's for me. I wouldn't mind getting a B.S. in business management or marketing because my whole family does it. It wouldn't be my passion though. Is there a way I can get into the gaming world without much programming skills or math? And what would be a good college to go to so i can have the fun college experience. I read you don't really need to have a degree in a "game" subject to get into game design. What is a day in the life of a game designer? Thank everybody for their time and their answers.

  1. Think everything over before you make a choice, make sure you pick something that you'll enjoy doing. Video Game design doesn't sound too bad.

  2. Game design doesn't involve programming. The design of a game involves defining the play, i.e. what you have to do and how you can achieve it, and the look & feel of the game, including the visual and audio experience.

  3. There are college courses in game design. Talk to the professor for the course.
