I am going to be in Calgary this weekend and I want to have a romantic Friday evening with my Fiancee, any suggestions? I saw something about Shakespeare in the park at Prince Island Park, but don't know how that is. Any suggestions will help, I am coming from Texas so I have no idea what to expect.

  1. It is hard to think of Calgary as "romantic" but Shakespeare in the park is always fun and I recommend the restaurant "the livingroom" on 17th Ave for a fun and romantic meal.  I actually did my wedding dinner there.

  2. You could go have dinner at the top of the Calgary tower..a little pricey but I enjoyed the food.

  3. Calgary is really nice this time of year, it's very warm, though probably not as warm as Texas. But Calgary is very nice.

Shakespeare in the Park is lovely, because the park is very beautiful. I think it would be nice for a romanic evening. There is even that mall just in front of the park.

There are also plenty of places to walk around in downtown Calgary near Prince Island Park. There is also the Threatre of Calgary, and trust me, it's always a great experience.

There are many restaurants around the park, such as the Old Spagetti Factory. ^_^

  4. If you like country music, Randy Travis is playing The Deerfoot Casino Saturday Aug. 2, and The Chrome Room where the concert takes place is a nice intimate sized room to see bands up close.

  5. A Texan should feel right at home in calgary as it is Canda's cowboy capital.  If you have transport I'd suggest heading out to Banff (1.5 hours west of Calgary) where there are mineral hot springs, gondola rides up sulpher mountain and lots of restaurants and tourist walk abouts.
