What should I do for my 21st birthday in Boston?

I would like to go to dinner or something before hand with my family, and then go out with friends afterwards. any ideas? thanks for the help. Also what should I wear?

Go to Fire and Ice, great place to start and then bar hopping in Kenmore, then to Fanieul Hall area, then back home.
