I know this is gross sorry but I am in a pickle. I have had five watery episodes today and I have an important doctors appt. at 3 I can't cancel. I heard people say that you should just "let it flow" and not take imodium cuz your body is getting rid of viruses and toxins but I don't want there to be any kind of accident if you know what I mean. Thanks for your help and for taking this question seriously. Sorry if tmi.

  1. Normally, I would agree but you have gone 5 times already and you have to go to the Dr. Take Imodium AD or Pepto Bismol and eat yogurt. I had diarrhea from a medication I was allergic to. I had it for 16 days, had been to the Dr and to the hospital but they couldn't get it to stop because at the time we didn't know what was causing it. I called a different Dr I know and he told me to eat all the yogurt I could eat. I did and the diarrhea stopped. Then I started thinking about what gave it to me. The new medicine was the only thing I had done differently. I stopped the medicine and it went away for good. Take the meds to stop it, I suspect it will come back later unless the Dr can give you something for it. Diarrhea is not always good. Tell your Dr and see what he says to do.

  2. Buy some Imodium AD and take some immediately AFTER your next "episode".  This should do the trick.  It won't be as effective (if at all) if you try to take this any other time.  Trust me, I know from experience!!  Also, be sure to take in plenty of fluids (possibly gatorade) due to the fact that you lose fluids as well as electrolytes when you have the runs.

  3. Wear a pad if you're worried about an accident. Immodium would be OK.  That should stop the diarrhea.  I'm glad you're seeing the doctor today. Tell him/her if you took Immodium.

Drink lots of water!  You don't want to get dehydrated.

Bless you and good luck! You're gonna be fine.  :)

  4. Sorry. I don't know
