  1. call social services in your area for information:   many young people turned out of foster care at age 18 need help . maybe you could help some of them.    an adoption of a teen ager would have many problems.

  2. I think you are a glutton for punishment.  It is questionable that a teen would truly bond with you.  If you over-reach by giving them things they would normally not have, they will become dependant on you in an addictive way just like a drug or a cigarette.  If you are too tough on them, they will simply flee and live with their friends or live on the street.  If you want to help some kids, then be a foster home for short-term, or volunteer for a summer camp or something like that.

  3. foster care for sure. there is so many kids that age that need a family. a lot of them do have behavior problems. but some can be dealt with. you are a great person for wanting to do this. foster care: they will put you on a list with all other foster parents. and the list will also say the age and gender you will take. and race. and u can have it changed at any time. and when they have kids in need for a home, they will call you. and they will give you a little information about the child(ren).  and you can decide if you want to take the child(ren) or not. after you take a child, if they are giving you problems you can call up the social worker and have them taken to another foster family.  if you have a child that goes up for adoption, then you can adopt them if you want to. it is hard though, having kids come and leave all the time. and if they leave, and the parents are not doing well, then they might get taken away again. and they will give you a call if your house is full(you can only have a certain amount of kids depending on many things) and its your choice if you want to take them back.

it is a good idea to only take boys or only take girls if you have older kids. even if they are brother and sister. because you will probably have problems with them sexually acting out. yes, even if they are related.

  4. www.adoptuskids.org has tons of information and forms to help get you through the process, plus a photolisting of waiting kids that will just break your heart.

      Good luck, and God bless!

  5. Yes, please look into Foster care.

You can do Foster-to-Adopt and it will not cost very much.

Contact social services for more detailed information.  But,

there are tons of teens in foster care that need a home.  If you are serious, you would first need to get licensed as a foster home.  This involves going to classes and having a home study.  It can be done within a couple of months.

Most people don't want teens, so you would have more of a choice in terms of kids.

    It's a great idea!

  6. There are many children out there in that age range that are wanting a home.  You need to be fully educated in RAD and other type issues.  Foster care is the best route to attain such children.  They will all come with baggage, so be prepared.  but they also need a loving home with boundaries.  The DHS in your area would know where to direct you and the classes etc that are required. Good luck and God bless you!
