  1. Drop the class and take it again with another professor.

With your attitude and hers, you won't learn anything any

way.  Start all over with a new perspective and if the same

problem occurs you will know that it is you who is

your worst enemy; well worth learning, if that is the case.

In the mean time, learn everything you can about the

subject with the tools you have (text book? etc.)

There is no subject you can't become more familiar with, if

        you make the effort..

  2. Sounds like a situation i had in college.  Here's what I did, you can decide if it works for you.

There was a lecturer at our local college (best college here) that was a "problem" for students for years.  Since he was foreign, by the time i had him, there was enough tension to try to get him deported!  His problem was that he was racist and sexist (a black female like myself was basically crossed off his list, unless he took to you rite away).  i didn't know this going in, he was teaching my major course, and I didn't want to do summer just to avoid his class.  so i stuck with it.  I refused to drop, since I'm not a quitter, and took my 'F' like a WOMAN! lol  Anyway, I took the course 2 semesters later, with a different lecturer, and got a 'B'.  i think the fact that I stuck with it and still got thru some of the info helped me to have a bit of an advantage taking it the 2nd time.

You're probably worrying about your GPA.  The damage to my GPA was fixed in the semester before the retake.  i got mostly 'A's in that semsester (read: carefully chosen courses!), even made the Dean's List.  Believe me, this will be such a small part of your life, you CAN ovecome!

  3. can u get a tutor or any older student's help?

  4. study at other place! if she hates u nvmd! but if she hates u n not a good teacher for u, then stop!

  5. Remember that in college you are a consumer.  Complain to the chairperson of the department.  Also remember, esp. in college, you are making a case.  That is, everytime you hand something in, take an exam, etc.  you are proving to the instructor why you should pass or fail.  Make your case clear.  Keep copies of everything and if you fail (unjustly) see the chairperson.  Let the instructor know you WILL do this as well.  Unless she is world-reknowned she will need her job.  Also, noone like their balls busted.  She would rather keep her job than deal with you, the chairperson, etc.

  6. Drop the class. You know right away whether or not the professor is going to "reach" you or not. i was in a similar situation in HS. I took it to the Dean the first week of school, where she told me that I would just have to stay in the class. I elected to take study hall instead. The teacher ended up getting fired after several other parents came to complain about the teaching methods (which was none- "read, check your homework, see me only if you dont get the books explanation") and his inability to handle teenagers.

Now, if this is college- just drop -unless you are on a schedule in which this class determines your graduation date. Make it a personal challenge. If the class does not weigh that much on your plans, then just drop and get whatever refund you can.

  7. Oh man! I feel your pain! I had a professor like that once.  I took her class and received a C-.  I didn't like having that i my GPA.  So, I took it again, and I got all B's until the final paper where she suddenly failed me! So, I got another C! UGH!

Here's what I'd do if I were you, do your best.  Study with other people in the class.  Is the professor failing you or are you doing okay? If the professor is just mean, but your grades are okay, stick it out.  If your grades are suffering, find another professor who teaches the same subject and meet with him/her.  It isn't impossible to get help from somebody else! That's what I did! You need to do what it takes.  You can audit another class that teaches the same thing for understanding or get help from a better professor.
