  1. there's a lot of exploring to do in ho chi minh city, and good shopping and nightlife too.

the cu chi tunnels are pretty amazing, i got really claustrophobic climbing through the bit widened for tourists! Buy some cobra rice wine (potent!) while there.. Cao Dai Temples are nearby too.

you can take cruises along the mekong delta around hcmc, which are nice to see the everyday life and such.

Do a cooking class! I did one in Hoi An (halfway between HCMC and Hanoi - fav place, excellent tailors etc.. if you can make it, go!).. so good. I'm sure you could find a cooking class in HCMC too!

    good luck on your holiday!!

  2. take a  tour to Da Lat city.  or stay and sample the local food.   watch out for the mystery meat.

  3. Make time to sample the various dishes of local cuisine. Vietnamese food in HCM in fantastic and still quite inexpensive.

  4. It's a good idea to take some day trips or even spend a couple of days outside Saigon, although Saigon is a fascinating city, you can see just about everything there is to see in the city in two or three days, although Saigon does have a very fun nighlife scene. Not knowing what interests you, have a look at this website and others like it to see if anything appeals to you, have fun:

  5. i would really recommend going to cu chi tunnels it takes up a day leaving from district 1 at 8am and back at 6pm cost about 12 usd, and also a day trip by boat on the mekong delta. also hong kong market is good for shopping
