Question:

What should I do if I received an extra shipment of skis?

I ordered a pair of skis a couple of weeks ago. The day I ordered there was some billing info error and my order was "pending." I gave the merchant a call a couple hours after my original order and gave him the same billing info that for some reason had not worked in my original order. He said everything was fine now and that it was no longer "pending."

So I recieved my skis the following week. But a week after this I receive a second shipping confirmation and came home to a second pair of skis (same model I ordered of course). I checked my credit card statement and was only charged once. What do I do with the extra pair of skis?

  1. Do you really need to ask?  My guess is that you're hoping some schmucks will tell you to keep them, and that you'll let yourself use this as an excuse.

The right thing to do is return them.  The merchant was good to you about processing the order - you should be good to them and send them back.

  2. call the company and tell them. they will probably send you a shipping label or what not to send them back at no cost to you.

  3. Same thing happened to me with something else. I just kept it and sold it on ebay. I know that's terrible but oh well.
