What should I do if biten by a rattle snake out in the woods and no one is around?

Self help for this. I have started hiking in the mountains, alone, and doing all day hikes.

If your cell phone will not work you could die. I suggest buying some quality boots that go up your calf fairly high. That way if a snake strikes, it might just hit the boot.
