What should I do if my brother hates me?

I think my brother hates me. I'm 10 years old and my brothers 17. He's always yelling at me and hitting me. Never has he told me he loves me. I know this sounds pathetic, but I'm home all day with him. My parents work all day, and he's supposed to take care of me. If he's not yelling or hitting me he's ignoring me. I always have to make my own dinner and I eat by myself. I don't know what to do! I've talked to my mom about this, but she thinks I

exaggerate. What should I do?

Well, you can just approach him and ask him what you did to him to make him hate you so much. If not, just ignore him too, or discuss the problem with your parents again. You brother might be having his own problems too, so he's just taking out all his frustrations on you...

Try to get on his good side. Try to understand why he acts like that and communicate to him you are only a little girl who wants to know her older brother cares.

I personally think the behavior towards you is caused by the huge age difference. Sometimes it's best to just let things go and ignore him. When you are both older he'll probably respect you more.

turn the other cheek, be nice to him, respect him even (when you think that he doesn't deserve it) and obey him (within reason). and tell him that you love him.
