What should I do if my ex won't give my car back?

My ex boyfriend refuses to give me my car back. I don't want to involve the police because it technically isn't stolen. He is also the father of my child so I really don't want the police involved. Is there any other way to get it without reporting it stolen?

I have the same issue going on. I called the police but they did not make her give me the car cause she has insurance on the car. They said it was a civil issue...and they would not force her to give it to me.
