  1. You should go to your dentist and have it checked.

If you just chipped it and it's only 'slightly' chipped, it's probably sore from the trauma more than from exposed tooth. If it is only a small chip, your dentist will likely just polish the rough edges and leave it be. Adding bonding material for a small chip can be hit or miss. Your front teeth take a lot of impact with biting so small cosmetic bondings like that are prone to getting knocked off.

More important is the trauma to the tooth. An impact that causes your tooth to chip can cause the tooth to die. Let your dentist check the tooth and the surrounding tissues. He/she will chart note that the trauma happened and keep an eye on that tooth at future appointments. Teeth that die from trauma don't usually do so immediately. It may take a few months. And we don't routinely x-ray front teeth. So making your doc aware of it is necessary so he/she knows to x-ray it periodically to ensure it is stable. Don't let this concern you, there's a very good chance nothing will come of it but it's just smart to make your dentist aware.

    Good luck!

  2. Front tooth being chipped is kind of serious. You might want to visit your dentist cause it might get worse.
