What should I do if people try to get into my business about acting serious?

When I go into public places such as banks, superstores, even one time at the dentist office, employees are always asking me why I am to serious looking. So what should I do, whatever answer you give me just don't say to stop being serious, this is just my personality.

Tell them that's just who you are.  "I am what I am"  Maybe they aren't serious enough!
