  1. leave it in joint account, withdraw all of your money, then open another in a different account at a different bank & make sure you make it plain to them you do not want anybody elses name on your account.

  2. They are correct.  Close the account and get separate new ones.

  3. To remove a name from a joint bank account it needs both parties to sign & the account must be in credit.

Check your banks' policy, some will let you close it with one signature, again it must be in credit. If your bank needs 2 signatures to close it just tell them that the account is in dispute & they should put a block on it until you can get it resolved.

If you still have a problem let the bank know that you do not want an overdraft to be allowed on that account, don't worry about your name being on it, as long as your ex can't build up any debts on there.

  4. There is always a way somewhere. If you can afford the services of a lawyer, do so. If not, contact the Better Business Bureau, they surely will have either an answer or a suggestion for you. Nothing is written in cement and meant to last for ever.

  5. see an attorney

  6. just cancel it.  close the account.  if it "gets ugly"  call the cops.
