What should I do to change my hair for the start of the school year in September?

I am seventeen years old and a freshman in college taking online courses. It is a tradition in my family to get at least one new outfit for "Back to School" along with a new haircut. I am planning on keeping with this tradition with a haircut and color for church the day before classes start.

Currently, my hair is blonde, but I am ready for a change. I have been a blonde for about a year now.

I want it to be obvious that I cut my hair (I don't like spending that kind of money if nobody can tell my hair was cut). I don't think I want to go too short with the hair, but a little shorter isn't really a problem for me.

I want a look that is young and fun as I am a year younger than my classmates, but at the same time I want to look older and a bit more sophisticated. I am hoping that my haircut and color will help me look put together, and possibly help in getting a job.

I have included the URLs to a few pictures so that you may get a feel of my current hair color, style, and shape of my face.

I am considering going with a brunette this time around with my hair color.

Please include links in your answers with pictures of the cuts and/or colors that you think will look good on me.

  1. I think you would look great by changing the color and the way you style you hair. So far you are already doing a great job but you said a change will feel great so how about all sandy brown with very nice  light highlights, have them professionally done and you will love it. You can blow dry your hair with a large  round  brush turned in and down,  then flip hair back and just a  tiny tiny spray, so many ways with your layers ,try lots of styles and just have her sharpen up the layers. You only need to love it. Good luck
