It's not mine, it's my boyfriends.

A nail drove up his foot today (rust-proof), and he needs to clean it. I told him to soak his foot in warm water for several minutes and then clean it with iodine or something. Then I told him to take a pain killer.

Should that be ok ?

Please, no speeches about getting a tetanus shots, he doesn't need to get one.

  1. You are WRONG ! He SHOULD get a tetanus shot ! If you know everything, why even ask here ?

Ok, tell him to be a real man, just spit on it and put a band aid on it. Pain killers are for wimps. Jeeezzz...

There can be germs on that nail, BTW...

  2. Antibacterial soap and warm water, then antibiotic ointment. Keep it clean and dry, and keep an eye on it, puncture wounds can get infected easily. I hope you mean that he is up to date on his tetanus shot, because it doesn't matter if the nail is rust proof or not. Don't use peroxide, it damages healthy cells.

  3. maybe some peroxide and a band aid and clean it everyday so it doesn't get infected

  4. soak it in epsom salt and hot water.

also clean it with some peroxide.

get some neosporin or triple antiobiotic ointment and put it on the wound.

he should be getting a tetanus shot however against it you might be. there's a 72 hour incubation period before it starts the muscle spasms. the nail didn't need to have rust on it or be capable of getting rust for him to get tetanus. the only reason he shouldn't 'need to get one' would be that he's had one recently.

  5. bring him to the f* n hospital he could get a serious desise!!!!! GO GIRL GOO
