What should I do to get placed in a reputed company before being passed out?

I am final year student of B.tech(ECE), I am worried about my future as I have not placed in any company till now. I have to undergo a six months industrial training as well. Please if you can suggest me some companies/organizations(IT or Electronics) in north India which can hire me permanently after seeing my good work and commitment for my work.
