I have a big tournament in one month and I need to be top notch to help my team bring home the title of national champs. Does anyone has advice on how to improve my fitness level and scrum half skills?

  1. Get a medicine ball or make one.  Take an old ball and fill it with sand or small rocks then sew or duct tape it back up.  Find a buddy and pass around.  Your distance will increase significantly.  As scrum half, just be direct in where you want your team, when, and what you want them to do. Take charge, captain or not.

  2. Try and find as much footage of Justin Marshall and George Gregan as possible and watch all of it, take notes and then practice passing.

The diamond passing drill is excellent. Also work on retrieving a loose ball - simply rolling a ball out and diving on it should do the trick.

As for fitness, try simulating match conditions - getting from breakdown to breakdown. Again, the diamond drill will help.

Try to do the majority of your passing off you weaker hand. Your stronger hand will naturally improve as you do so.

  4. go on a holiday to South Africa  -you might just learn something.

  5. 1) Watch videos of Gareth Edwards.

    2) Practice
