What should I do to my kitchen?

How about a warm color on the wall - a terra cotta.  I'd also use some  throw rugs on the floor.  Inexpensive rag rugs will bring color and texture to the room.

you can buy the sticky counter top protection paper and cover the white parts of the cabinets.  this paper is not expensive and comes off easily.  or you can make or buy fun kitchen pictures and hang them where white spaces are by using double-sided tape so that the pictures can come off easily.  or hang dry flowers or other fun things in those white areas to take the attention off white.  here is some inspiration:

You could bring out some of the oranges and reds in your wall art, and decorate with those colors.  Maybe put some things on the top of the cupboards?  Just don't clutter too much, it looks cleaner without a bunch of junk sitting around.  Honestly, for an apartment kitchen I don't think it looks that bad.  I think a big fruit bowl of oranges and apples might look neat, and you can buy fake ones if you don't eat alot of fruit.

I don't know if you are aloud to re-do your cabinets but you can paint the walls red and get new deep sand colored cabinets. I am also not sure what your budget is but that would look good.
