  1. You should have some sort of list specifying that sort of thing, but if you don't then just do whatever you did last year, and you should be okay.

  2. Usually for us, the first day is just for distributing schedules and choosing our lockers. So I wouldn't suggest you to dress fancy or anything. Save that for the next day.

I usually just buy the essentials, like pens, pencils, highlighters, etc. Make sure you have a scientific calculator, you'll need it for math. They usually have them for around $10 at Staples.

As for clothing, it just depends on your own personal style. I shop everywhere, I find the coolest things in the weirdest places. West 49 and H&M are my main go-tos though.

EDIT: You might also want to get a locker shelf. If you want to keep your winter boots in your locker, then you wouldn't want to get your books all wet. Again, Staples has it.

  3. Supplies are Necessary:

1.5-2" Ring Binders for each subject

    Lots of loose leaf paper

    Many Pencils (you loose alot)

    Pens (Red, Blue, Black)

    Journal (No spiral  only bound)

Notebook(s) for each subject if wanted

    Ti-83 or Better graphing calculator

    Divider tabs (5 each)

    Graph Paper (math class)

    Highlighter

    Books?

    Optional:

    Locker Keys

    Home Keys

    Locker Stuff:

    Pencil Holder just incase

    Shelf

    Pictures!

  4. take it from me, dont bring anything on the first day and definately dont dress for p.e. on the first day either. this kid did last year and he got laughed at.

  5. in high school, the teachers will give you a list of what you need for their class within the first week.  for now, stock up on the basics. a folder and notebook for each class, pens, pencils, highlighters, loose leaf, a calculator.

clothes is completely up to your style, and the stores near you. i shop at kohls for most of my back-to-school clothes, but that's just me. stores like wets eal, forever 21, kohls, rue 21, etc have cute clothes.

on the first day, if you have supplies - you can bring them to put in your locker. other than that, a folder with some looseleaf in it and a pen/pencil is all you need. well, that and a smile!

some tips - relax! high school isn't that bad. chances are you'll only get slightly lost once or twice the first day, by the second day, you'll have it down! be friendly, smile, and join a club/sport. find out what friends are in your lunch hour, and plan to meet them by the cafeteria for lunch. start the year with good study habits, and carry that throughout the year. have fun!

and i'm going to be a junior, and i've founbd this to be really helpful-

make a "locker kit". use a small tin or pouch, etc. and fill it with extra helpful stuff. like -

-breath mints and minty gum (always handy - lol!)

-an extra lipgloss and eyeshadow (in case you forget yours, or didn't have time in the morning)

-5 extra dollars (lunch money, pay phone, buying a book for english class)

    -tampons/pads (just in case...)

-safety pins ( you never know...)

-a small deoderant and perfume (never wanna be stanky! lol!)

-a small lotion ( dry skin - eww. lol!)

-chapstick (kinda goes with the mints - lol!)

  6. Your teachers will probably give you a list of items on the first day.

Other than that, binders for each of your classes; gym clothes; a pencil case, an agenda, a good calculator. Get a big binder to keep loose papers, blank/lined paper, doodles, and field trip forms in. I've been using one ever since grade 7, bring it to each class, and it's been my favourite accessory.

Bring lots of summer memories and a positive attitude! :) Good luck!

  7. I am not sure about Canada school supply lists but you can check with your parents to see if they mailed you one and you can also check your schools website they should have a list there and you can call the school and ask. You can also check your local Walmart they have them there that's where I found mine. I am not sure what clothing stores they have in Canada either so go to the mall you will not be disappointed.
