What should I do to prepare my subwoofers for an upcoming bass competition ?

I have 2 12 inch Kicker CompVR Subwoofers with a Kicker ZX1000.1 Amplifier...

  1. -break-in the subwoofer so it can perform to its max

    -batt fully charged

    -make sure the wiring is done right

    -check the amp settings so it works at its max performance without sending a distorted signal

    -check if the box placement will be the loudest option for your vehicle

    but with those subs, dont expect great legal numbers at the termlab

    ... i think that should be it...

Huh..nothing really.  You could try playing some bass test songs on them.  And you could get a decimeter to see how much db you are hitting - which depends on several factors.  CVRs and the ZX1000.1  - No offense, but I don't know because where I am from...don't even bother showing up to the competition with that.

  3. double check everything. mainly wiring  and power providers(amps, battery, caps), play some bass test songs, also make sure the car itself is running fine.

    p.s. Remember to fill up the gas tank. dont want to get stuck at the competition. (people laugh at u)
